From the book to the screen

I am like many people a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I couldn't get enough of Tolkiens world. I fully believed that it was part of history that time has forgotten. This is why I want to make my next film based on Tolkiens work. Like the Hunt for Gollum and Born of Hope, my film will be a non-profit film and will be for private use only.

My film is a short film about the younger years of Aragorn. Aragorn's father Arathorn was killed when Aragorn was just 2 years of age. Aragorn was afterwards fostered in Rivendell by Elrond. At the request of his mother, his lineage was kept secret, as she feared he would be killed like his father and grandfather if his true identity as the descendant of Elendil became known. Aragorn was renamed Estel (Hope in Sindarin) and was not told about his heritage until he came of age (20).

My film will pick up when Estel is 17 years of age. He will be learning how to fight and track with the elves. I am very keen to show his development as the film progresses. He will be out tracking with his mentor elf one day in the forest surrounding Rivendell and they will discover Orc tracks. Worried by this the mentor warns Elrond. Elrond apoints the task of finding the camp to young Estel. So Estel is sent out for the first time to locate the camp then report back. But things dont go a smoothly as Estel hopes.
